Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) may be used by people with hearing loss if they need help hearing in a specific situation, or if for some reason a hearing aid isn’t suitable for them. ALDs are not designed to replace hearing aids and in some cases they may be used to compliment the hearing aids you already have. Common ALDs include
- Alarms clocks and alerts systems such as smoke alarms, doorbells & baby alert systems
- Listening amplifiers
- Headphones for the TV or home stereo
